01Overview

B-Team Engineering makes custom engineering and reloading automation equipment from Wentzville, Missouri. Nick Gross came to us as a professional engineer (PE) with a clear brief: one straightforward site he could run himself.

What he had instead were three separate channels. Products were sold in one place, technical documentation went out by email, and custom work arrived as unstructured messages. None of it was findable without asking Nick.

He did not want a second system to learn. He wanted a single place where customers could find what they needed, and where a custom request would arrive as something his team could actually quote.

02What we built

A custom Shopify storefront built to do the business’s three jobs:

  1. ShopA product catalog organized so customers can find what fits their equipment without already knowing the part number.
  2. SupportA searchable documentation library for every product, so customers can find setup guides and reference material themselves, without emailing support.
  3. Custom engineeringAn intake form for work that is not a catalog item. It asks enough to turn a loose inquiry into a scoped request the team can quote from, and keeps that mail separate from general support.

We looked at putting the shop and the docs on two separate platforms and recommended against it. Nick wanted one platform and an editor he could use without calling a developer. That matched how he already intended to run the business.

03How we worked

Site structure and brand direction were approved in writing before design started. Nick gave one combined round of feedback, then we built. His references and every written reply said the same thing: keep it simple. That shaped which tools we used.

He took the words and the launch timing because he knows the product. We built it, reviewed it, and tested it on mobile and desktop. We handed over with documentation of how the site is built. After handover we stay available as needed; the site is his.

04Outcome

Customers can browse the catalog, find documentation, or send a custom-engineering request with enough detail to quote, without an email back-and-forth first.

Nick updates the site himself. We remain available as needed; the site is his.
